June Favourites ♡

Real Techniques Duo Fibre Face Brush, Real Techniques Detailer Brush, Real Techniques Sculpting Brush, Rimmel London Exaggerate Liquid Liner, Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Cleansing and Toning Lotion, Boots Essentials Cucumber 3 Minute Clay Mask, NSPA Pure Fragrance, Orange Is The New Black, The L Word, Netflix, monthly favourites, june favourites

This month has gone by so fast; it feels as if it was only yesterday that May started and now June is in a day.

I have been loving the Real Techniques Duo Fibre Face Brush (part of Nic’s Picks) for blush this month. Since this is a duo-fibre brush, it picks up very little product so I can go as heavy handed as I want. This also means that there is very-to-little chance of me looking like a clown with my blush as I can build up my blush myself. I featured this brush here. The Real Techniques Detailer Brush (part of the Core Collection) is one that I thought I wouldn't use as much. It’s very small so it’s perfect for ‘cleaning’ under my eyebrows. I have been into bronzing more than sculpting recently and the Real Techniques Sculpting Brush is one I have been using for doing so. This blends my bronzer like a dream, however it’s quite hard to blend my contour with, which sucks. I featured these brushes here. I’ve recently been into a full face of makeup, despite the surprisingly hot weather here in England. For me, a full face of makeup isn't complete without winged eyeliner. I have been using my Rimmel London Exaggerate Liquid Liner which applies effortlessly. This is super black, dries matte and lasts all day, even on my oily eyelids and through rain! I featured this liner here, here and here.

I recently bought Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Cleansing and Toning Lotion which I use after washing/exfoliating my face. I honestly thought that toning was a useless step, but now I understand it. Toning, for me at least, gets rid of excess dirt and tones your skin too. My face feels super clean, yet not too clean now that I have this extra step in my skincare routine.  I have been using face masks a lot recently, as my skin has gotten bad recently (but this was all sorted by a simple trip to the doctors). One I have been using religiously is Boots Essentials Cucumber 3 Minute Clay Mask, this deep cleans my skin without making it feel dry, which is usually quite hard to find in clay masks. My sister recently bought NSPA Pure Fragrance and I have been ‘borrowing’ it from her for most of this month. This smells soo good; it reminds me of men’s perfumes but like a woman’s version of it, if that makes sense.

The world went crazy for Ruby Rose this month, as series 3 of Orange Is The New Black came out early. I started watching this last month (May) and within watching the first 5 minutes I decided I didn’t like it. I realised how ridiculous that was of me to judge a whole series on just 5 minutes, so I began to watch it again and became hooked! Series 3, for me, was not what I expected it to be. The storyline was really dull so I’m really hoping series 4 will be much better. I have also been loving The L Word, so much that I watched the last 4 series in 3 days! I really don’t like the character Bette, she’s super controlling and just really dislike her. I really wasn’t feeling her storyline with Jodi, I always skipped those parts. My favourite storyline (and couple) was Tasha and Alice. I really disliked their storyline in the last series as it felt forced, but apart from that their storyline was really interesting. Both of these can be watched on Netflix.

What have been some of your monthly favourites?

Seeing as I have done a post here about my makeup routine, I decided to let my sister to write her own.

Sister’s makeup routine, makeup routine, Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Cleansing and Toning Lotion, Nivea Soft Moisturisng Cream, Illamsqua Hydra Veil, L'Oreal Revitalift Blur Finishing Cream, NYX Full Coverage Concealer in Orange, MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation, L'Oreal Lumi Magique Foundation, MAC Pro Longwear Concealer, Max Factor Loose Powder and Ben Nye Luxury Loose Powder in Banana, L'Oreal Brow Artist Eyebrow Pencil, L'Oreal Perfection Brow Artist Plumper, Too Face Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer, ELF Studio Blush Palette, Essence Blush Up! ‘Every morning before I do my makeup, I make sure I use my Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Cleansing and Toning Lotion to really cleanse and tone my face. I then apply some Nivea Soft Moisturisng Cream and wait a few minutes for it to sink in. I use my Illamsqua Hydra Veil if my skin is even drier than usual otherwise I just use my L'Oreal Revitalift Blur Finishing Cream. Using my NYX Full Coverage Concealer in Orange I colour correct my undereye area and then finally apply my foundation. I use either the MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation if I want my foundation to last all day, otherwise just my L'Oreal Lumi Magique Foundation.

After I have applied my foundation I conceal and brighten my undereye area with MAC Pro Longwear Concealer and then 'bake' my undereye area as this makes sure that the concealer doesn't crease. I 'bake' with any loose powder, but I'm currently switching between my Max Factor Loose Powder and Ben Nye Luxury Loose Powder in Banana, and leave this on for about 5 minutes. Whilst its 'baking' I begin to do my eyebrows with my  L'Oreal Brow Artist Eyebrow Pencil and finish them off with my L'Oreal Perfection Brow Artist Plumper. After this, I dust off the excess powder from when I was 'baking' and use my MAC Fix Plus to give my face a nice dewy look as my skin is dry and that's what I prefer.

After the fix plus has settled into my skin and has dried, I contour my face using the Too Face Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer, and then apply some blush. At the moment I've been loving coral and pink blushers such as ELF Studio Blush Palette in Light elf blush palette in light, Essence Blush Up! Powder Blusher in Heatwave and Pinky Flow and the Sleek Blushers in Life's A Peach and Pixie Pink.

For mascara, I have been loving Benefit Roller Lash Mascara and Essence I Love Extreme Volume Mascara together recently. I then like to line my tightline and waterline with either my Topshop Kohl Pencil or my Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion depending on how long I need my eyeliner to last.

To highlight my cheek bones I've been loving both MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle and KIKO Water Eyeshadow in Shade 208  to give me that extra oomph. Finally for my lips I've been using MAC Lip Pencil in Soar with MAC Lipstick in Velvet Teddy. After I've applied all my makeup, I set my entire face with Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray in Cooling and Hydrating to make sure it lasts all day and nothing moves during the day.'

Day Out Makeup Bag

beauty, beauty blogger, perks of being nazia, what's in my makeup bag, whats in my makeup bag teenager, whats in my travel makeup bag, whats in my travel makeup bag, teenager, rimmel london professional eyebrow pencil, real techniques miracle complexion sponge, soap and glory sexy mother pucker, soap and glory sexy mother pucker in raplumzel, revlon lip gloss, revlon lip gloss in super natural, soap and glory one heck of a blot, real techniques blush brush, essence lip liner, essence lip liner in soft berry

A week ago I went to London with my sisters and nephew and took my makeup bag with me (obviously). I take my makeup bag with me whenever I go out, unless it's just to the local shops or I'm not wearing any makeup (which truthfully, is quite rare). I have, with trial and error, take a set amount of products with me always.

My makeup bag is from Primark from a few years ago. I don't think they sell it anymore but they always sell cute makeup bags there. It cost less than £5 which is always a plus in my books. I always take my Essence Lip Liner in Soft Berry with me everywhere as it is my go-to lip colour. It's a deep nude which suits me very well. Next I have my Real Techniques Blush Brush which I use with my Soap and Glory One Heck Of A Blot. I found the beush too big to use for blush; I applied way too much with it and ended up looking like a clown; never a good look, aha. This brush applies my powder without making me looking powdery/ashy. I have two more lip products: Revlon Lip Gloss in Super Natural and Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker in Raplumzel. I also take a compact mirror with me everywhere just incase I need to check my makeup.

As I was going to London for the entire day I decided to take my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge with me if, for some unknown reason, my foundation/concealer went weird or decided to move around. My Rimmel London Professional Eyebrow Pencil also went went with me as I was scared that my eyebrows would melt off - which they didn't even though they were on for about 13 hours.

What is an absolute must product that you take with you in your makeup bag?

Best Under £5 Beauty Products

As I'm a student, I tend to mostly buy drugstore products. Through trial and error, I have found products that work for me and do live upto their names. I previously did a Top 10 Under £10 post here. In this post I included items that only cost less than £5.

(These products are in no particular order)

The blogosphere went crazy for this and this does live upto the hype. I featured this in my post here. I wouldn't say they cleanse your skin, but they definitely do remove your makeup. For waterproof makeup, i.e. waterproof mascara/eyeliner, etc., I soak the cotton pad and place it on my eyelid and press ever so lightly for about 10 seconds and then wipe away. You do have to be patient otherwise you'll end up with some of the product in your eye (which stings so badly).

These are supposed dupes of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders but I don't own them so I can't really say so. Nevertheless these are so frickin' beautiful. I have been using Breathe every day since I've bought this. It's definitely a subtle highlight so it's okay if you do overload on this (a.k.a what I do all the time).

I've been using the loose powders since 2011 I'd say. They set my makeup so well, I used to use them to blot my makeup as my skin is oily but they don't work as well for that. I use this for that now. I recently bought the pressed version which I don't like as much but that's mostly because I prefer loose powder to set my makeup. I honestly refuse to pay more than these cost for loose powders as they are the best. I even tried to 'bake' which is when you use an excess amount of loose powder on places you wish to highlight and then leave it on for about 10-15 minutes and wipe it away.
You're not supposed to use transculent powders (which these are) so I was shocked when it actually worked. Lesson being do whatever you want with your makeup, don't let others tell you otherwise.

I used to use these back in the days, circa 2012, for dark eyebrows, think sharpie eyebrows *shudders* I now know use these to fill in my eyebrows not to draw them in like I used to. These last all day, whether it be raining or you're sweating, these won't budge at all. So you're definitely getting more than your money worth.

These are supposed to be dupes of the Urban Decay Naked Palettes. I don't own them so I can't say but nevertheless I love this palette. It suits my skintone so well. There are light and dark shades, which are all nude colours which is basically my kind of heaven as I love neutral eyeshadows. These last all day, however an eyeshadow base/primer is required to get the best of colour pay-offs.

This mascara does what it says and so much more. I don't want to say more as a review for this will be up soon ;) but it is the best mascara I have found.

These lipliners are matte yet not drying and last a long time - as long as you're careful eating and drinking that is. They're super pigmented and are mega cheap. My go-to colour is soft berry which is the perfect deep brown nude colour for me.

When I first bought this, I used this everyday but I've stopped as I started my love affair with my Milani Baked Blush in Dolce Pink. This colour is the perfect pale coral-pink hybrid which would suit nearly all skintones. These last all day - I wore it for 13 hours and it didn't fade whatsoever.

These are super pigmented and last all day. I chose matte colours as I tend to lean towards matter colours than other types. The colours I own are so beautiful and I can't wait to buy some more!

The colour pay-off of these is just simply wow. They are like the Makeup Revolution eyeshadows but 10× better as they are so much more pigmented. The shadows link together (as suggested by the name) so you can create your own miniature palette I guess.

I absolutely love this! This makes my skin super matte, which I prefer as I have oily skin. I'm currently too dark for this colour so off I went to purchase one shade up and it seems that they were replaced by their face bases; I really hope they don't stop selling these are these are the best foundation I have ever found. I would only recommend them to those who have oily skin as they're so matte that they'd make you dry if you had any other type of skin.

Previous to this product, I used a hair serum which was made specifically for African hair and since I have super thick and dry hair, I used that which used to calm down my hair. They stopped selling that in my local hair shop, which was a pretty sad day. Someone recommended this to me and of course I had to buy it. The bottle looks so small but honestly it lasts such a long time. I use 1 pump throughout the ends of my hair then I use a pump per section as I straighten it as my hair is naturally quite frizzy. I hate the smell of this but overtime I've gotten used to it. I've read reviews online of this where people say they love the smell of it but its far too sweet and sickly for me. I tend to wash my hair at night then straighten my hair so its not frizzy for the next day as as I sleep it gets less frizzy. However last week I couldn't do this and so I had to wash and straighten my hair and go out within a few hours of this. I was honestly so scared my hair was going be frizzy because it usually is soon after I've done my hair, but after using about 10 or so pumps of this, my hair wasn't frizzy whatsoever and it didn't look oily/greasy either so this gets two thumbs up from me!

In my Top 10 Under £10 post I talked about a budget brush brand - Real Techniques. However Wilkos Premium Brushes are the budget brushes of all the budgets. These do not shed whatsoever and do their job well. I have my eye on their foundation brush next.

Last year I spotted this product in my local Superdrug so I bought this and lo and behold this is one of my holy grail products (as are most of the products on this list). This is the perfect contour shade for my skin colour, not too warm or too cool. I can see how this can be too orange for those who are pale so I'd recommend swatching this if you can, to determine whether it'll work for you. I found out this year, that this product is a dupe for Benefit's Hoola Bronzer which is quite ironic as I don't like that.

I hope this helps you in choosing which drugstore products are best for you!

What under £5 beauty product would you recommend to someone?

Top 10 Under £10

I use mostly drugstore products, mainly because I'm a teenager and I have a budget so I thought I'd show you my picks from the drugstore. I've included items only from the £5-£10 price range as I have another one coming up soon for items under £5 ;)

Theses are in no particular order

Real Technique Brushes, Topshop Highlighter, Makeup Revolution Eyeshadow Palette, No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour, Rimmel Foundations Sleek Face Contour Kit, Topshop Lipsticks, Revlon Lipglosses, Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer, Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick, Real Technique Brushes review, Topshop Highlighter review, Makeup Revolution Eyeshadow Palette review, No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour review, Rimmel Foundations Sleek Face Contour Kit review, Topshop Lipsticks review, Revlon Lipglosses review, Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer review, Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick review, beauty, beauty blogger, perks of being nazia, top 10 under £10

Real Technique Brushes

Pictured are the duo fibre brush, blush brush, cheek brush, expert face brush and the sculpting brush

Almost everyone - bloggers and non-bloggers - own these brushes as they are so affordable yet offer such quality; something which everyone wants. They are all super soft and have little to no shedding so last a very long time! In the collection, there are many brushes so you will at least find one, if not a couple, of brushes to suit your needs

Sleek Contour Kit

Pictured is the shade medium

This is the best drugstore contour kit, hands down. The kit has a cool-tone colour (for contouring) and a highlighting colour which I am yet to try. I have already hit pain on the contour shade as I use it on a daily basis. These are highly pigmented, so a little goes a long way.

Real Technique Brushes, Topshop Highlighter, Makeup Revolution Eyeshadow Palette, No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour, Rimmel Foundations Sleek Face Contour Kit, Topshop Lipsticks, Revlon Lipglosses, Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer, Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick, Real Technique Brushes review, Topshop Highlighter review, Makeup Revolution Eyeshadow Palette review, No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour review, Rimmel Foundations Sleek Face Contour Kit review, Topshop Lipsticks review, Revlon Lipglosses review, Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer review, Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick review, beauty, beauty blogger, perks of being nazia, top 10 under £10

Topshop Highlighter

Pictured is the highlighter in horizon

These highlighters are really pigmented and only a little is need - even thought I still use a hell of a lot. I find this colour suits my skin colour and just looks so beautiful on. Topshop also have a champagne-y version too.

Rimmel Foundations

Pictured are the wake me up foundation, match perfection foundation, lasting finish 25 hour foundation (full coverage) and lasting finish 25 hour foundation (medium coverage)

All of these foundations, except for the wake me up foundation, are ones I use on a daily basis; my personal favourite being the match perfection one. They last from 6 hours to 8, which is fantastic for drugstore foundations, but this does mean that the lasting finish 25 hour foundations don't last as long as they clam to.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

This concealer is extremely good at brightening the undereye are. It's not so good at concealing but does a fantastic job at making one look radiant and more awake. Unlike the foundation version of this, this concealer does not make you look like a glitterball so you can apply as generously as your heart contents.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipsticks

Pictured are the shades 30 and 07

Shade 30 was my first every lipstick I bought (almost a year ago now) and I love it so dearly. It is a deep purple-red colour, which is the colour I expected MAC Rebel lipstick to be. These are pigmented too, but not as much as Topshop lipsticks but more so than other drugstore lipsticks. They last about 3-4 hours too which is pretty long and do leave a stain behind so it's not as noticable when it does start to fade.

No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour

Pictured are damson dream, beanie, foxglove, beautifully black, blackberry, hot to trot, totally teal and tangy

These are like the MAC of nail polishes; they have such a huge range of nail colours! Two coats is only needed for a super opaque colour and they last upto 5 days without a top coat which is amazing quality.

Real Technique Brushes, Topshop Highlighter, Makeup Revolution Eyeshadow Palette, No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour, Rimmel Foundations Sleek Face Contour Kit, Topshop Lipsticks, Revlon Lipglosses, Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer, Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick, Real Technique Brushes review, Topshop Highlighter review, Makeup Revolution Eyeshadow Palette review, No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour review, Rimmel Foundations Sleek Face Contour Kit review, Topshop Lipsticks review, Revlon Lipglosses review, Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer review, Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick review, beauty, beauty blogger, perks of being nazia, top 10 under £10

Topshop Lipsticks

Pictured are the shades inhibition and wicked

Topshop lipsticks are rumoured to be under the same family brand which MAC is under; this may help explain how crazy pigmented these are! Only one swipe is needed and they last 3-4 hours which is pretty long for any lipstick to be honest.

Revlon Lipglosses

Pictured are the shades supernatural and berry allure

These are best lipglosses I have ever owned: reason being that they are not sticky at all! Your lips don;t feel sticky not does your hair get stuck to them (which happens to everyone once in their lifetime) which is a massive plus. These are also pigmented too, which is something that is hard to find in lipglosses.

Makeup Revolution Eyeshadow Palette

Pictured is the flawless eyes like angels palette

I actually received this for my birthday last year (I did ask for it though) and it has been my go-to palette since. It has every colour anyone could ask for and Makeup Revolution have a ridiculous amount of palettes so everyone will be pleased. These last all day on my oily eyelids, even without a primer. I do own more palettes by Makeup Revolution, which will be in my under £5 blogpost ;)

Number One Product All Oily Skin People Should Own

Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray, Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray review, beauty, beauty blogger, perks of being nazia, number one product all oily skin people should own

When I first used the Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray I thought it was quite naff and didn't do much. With me, first impressions matter as they tend to cement an idea of something/someone. This just made my face wet and annoyed me to be quite frank.

Lo and behold, I decided to read the instructions on the bottle and it turned out that I was using it wrong. You're supposed to hold this at arms length and spray in a T or X formation. I'd been spraying it directly close to my face. As soon as I did what it said, I felt a fine mist land on my face which dissolved almost immediately. Looking in the mirror, I could see no difference so off I went about my daily doings. When I came home. I was really shocked. This made my makeup last all day; no touch-ups, fading or melting whatsoever. This even made my makeup stay put when I was out in the pouring rain.

This spray has converted me. Unfortunately for me, mine has finished and I'm on a budget so I can't afford another one so I'm definitely looking forward to my next one.

All you oily skin gals need this because this is honestly a life saver (wow, dramatic much.)

I use three different moisturisers (which to be fair is more than enough). The one I have been using for years (and stupidly forgot to take a picture of) is the Nivea Soft Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream which smells so nice but also moisturises my face without it feeling oily or slippery. About a year ago I developed cystic acne (nice, right) and my skin went so weird as it would be super oily then normal. My sister recommended to me that I should use Fade Out Original Moisturising Cream as she read online that it worked really well for acne skin. I used this religiously for about a year and I do believe this helped my skin (alongside medication of course). One thing I did notice was that this apparently 'fades' your skin meaning it would lighten it, however, me being a dark southern Asian, it didn't lighten my skin whatsoever. I had hyper-pigmentation around my mouth and chin which has reduced and I think this is due to this cream, which is great for me as now my face is kinda around one colour now instead of two colours. I have found though that recently my skin around my nose had been dry due to this so I have stopped using it for a while and instead use the next product. I recently bought the Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer for Normal and Combination Skin and I love it! I was confused that they didn't have on specifically for oily skin but I obviously chose this one as the other one available was specifically for dry skin and, well, my skin is quite the opposite. It has a weird gel-like consistency and a little does go a long way. It feels super thick and oily once applied but after a minutes it sinks in and dries, leaving a velvet-y finish. I also believe that this makes my makeup last longer, which is a huge plus for me!

After a day of wearing makeup, I like using my Garnier Micellar Water (which I also forgot to take a picture of) to take my makeup off with. I use two cotton pads for my face (not including my eyes). I use a cotton pad per eye as I let it soak on my eye area for about 10 seconds then wipe away as my eye makeup comes off easier that way. For removing my mascara, I wipe it away gently with my cotton pad until I feel like I have got none left.

In the morning, and after I have taken my makeup off in the evening, I like using my Olay Regenerist 3 Point Super Cleansing System, but only the exfoliating brush. I use this with either my Wilkos Skin Therapy Tea Tree Facial Scrub or the Wilkos Skin Facial Scrub for Normal and Combination Skin. Both of  these scrubs are super gentle on the skin so it's not harsh when I use an exfoliating brush with them, plus they're cheap as chips costing only 95p! When I feel super lazy in the morning I only use my Garnier Pure Active Anti-Blackhead Deep Pore Wash which is meh to be quite frank as it's not helping my skin but it's not worsening it either.

Occasionally I use my Boots Essentials Cucumber 3 Minute Clay Mask as it takes only 3 minutes to use (obviously). I squeeze this step between exfoliating/washing and moisturising my face. I try to use a face mask every 2 or 3 days in the evening as I am currently trying to up my face mask game. I use either the Boots one I mentioned above or Superdrugs De-Stressing Aloe Vera Mud Mask, Superdrugs Purifying Witch Hazel Mud Mask or a 7th Heaven Mud Mask.

For pesky spots, I use Wilkos Skinology Tea Tree Intensive Spot Cream and T-Zone Rapid Action Spot Zapping Gel which help reduce my spots so much. I tend to use these at night, just before I go asleep or as soon as I've woken up, just after I've exfoliated/washed and moisturised my face.
